Well guys; I see you still have not made it to Alaska.
I love the pictures! Utah looks so beautiful!
So…. how long is this adventure goning to actually take? If you don’t have an answer, I totally understand!
    Enjoy!

    Hani!
I’m determined to see y’all during your journey. I missed you in Austin but it looks like we’ll be in Alaska at the same time.
I’ll be in Anchorage Aug 6-8, around Homer for a few days, and back to Anchorage/ Denali until leaving Aug 27. The plans are loose and focused on backpacking. Do y’all have an itinerary?
    with love
    e

      Hey Erin,

We have a friend meeting us there. He arrives in Fairbanks mid August and leaves out of Anchorage at the end of August. Those are the only set plans we have. We are currently in Hyder,Alaska and still have a thousand more miles till we get into the rest of Alaska. Look forward to seeing you.

We ran into you guys at Dawson City, the older couple with the older Coachman motor home and the older Yamaha motorcycle (lots of older). We just arrived home in Maine today after 8 weeks on the road and nearly 12,000 miles. It is great that you can do this while you are young and unencumbered. We’ve been camping and motor homing for 44 years and still love it and each other. I noticed some common experiences between your trip and ours:

    1) You need to stock food and beveràges when you can get them cheap. We returned with a lot of stuff we brought from home and only had to buy beer twice! Could not pass up the farm stands, though.

    2) You can’t have too many spare parts for an old vehicle, but they ususally will be the wrong ones. When something breaks it usually will be Friday, you are 200 miles from the nearest town and/ or all the qualified mechanics are booked for a week. So you have to fix it yourself, even if it takes every last ounce of your strength, energy and ingenuity.

    3) Everywhere you go will, to the locals, be the greatest place on earth, really. The scenery will be gorgeous, but you can’t say which is the best. What you remember most, though, is the people you meet and what you eat or drink.

    4) The non-driver has no idea what the driver has to do just to keep you alive. ”Let’s turn here.” (Uttered when you are 50 feet from the turn at 50 mph). “Why didn’t you see that ..(moose, cheap diesel, roadsign).

    5) Being with the same person 24/7 can bring you closer together and remind you why you married in the first place, provided you both keep your sense of humor and tolerate each other’s (many) faults.
