Last week we went to the El Rosario Mariposa Monarch Reserve, the largest monarch butterfly area in the world. It’s up at almost 10,000 feet so imagine what a fun drive that was (it took us 45 minutes to drive 8 miles) but was totally worth it!
We took a 30 minute horseback ride on Chocolate and Espeedy and then walked another 20 minutes.
At first, we saw a few butterflies here and there. Then it became this:
Swarming butterfly amazingness!! We were completely engulfed in orange and black fluttering wings.
It looked like autumn but all the orange on the trees are butterflies.
