Everyone keeps asking how I packed for a year of travel. Since no one cares about what Hani brought, this is just a post about my clothes, so ladies, this one’s for you!
I had a really hard time figuring out what to bring. I wanted clothes that would last and that would be mixed and layer well. That concept was put to the test when we drove through the Panhandle and along the south in 50 degree rain.
Here’s my pile:
3 shorts, 3 jeans, 3 short dresses, 2 long dresses, 1 long skirt, 3 bathing suits, 1 coverup, bunch of tanks and short sleeves, 3 long sleeves (2 can be cuffed to make short or 3/4 sleeves), 1 long and 1 short set of pjs, sweatpants, exercise/hiking tops and bottoms in varying lengths, scarf, socks and undergarments. Not pictured is my West Marine foul weather jacket (thank you Kevin!), a windbreaker, hooded sweatshirt, 2 pairs flip flops, havaianas, crocs, and sneakers. I brought WAAAY too much! But surprisingly it all fit. Here’s everything in its neat lil cubbie:
The top shelf is jeans and jackets, second is mine, third is Hani’s and bottom is laundry and miscellaneous. Shoes are in a different area.
Oh and I’m already sick of what I brought 🙂
I’m so jealous of you two. I’m going to live vicariously through you both this year. Be safe!
Sweatshirt and pants were a good move
You treally Have Thougbt OF Everything! Where Are You sleeping? Are You Usiing Camp Sites Or Just Pulling nto.parking Lots?
we try to park in pretty areas. when we were in new orleans, we parked on the street outside our friends’ house but now we are in a state park. very lovely but i rather camp for free 🙂
LOL Every year when we head north I pack all my uggs and cashmere in boxes knowing in September/October when we are heading south things get COLD! I hide them away in the bilges, but your closet looks just like mine! Very small, thus needing to be VERY organized!!! Love it! Love your posts! Miss you both (and the girls!!!) XOXO TW
sick of them already!? lauren and i literally wanted to burn our clothes after 1.5 years, so tired of them. She convinced me giving them to Goodwill was a better option.
Wow. You packed a lot in a small space. Its great to be organized.
